Plyler v Doe (1982) is still law, though many states have been pushing cases so they can get SCOTUS to strike down another precedent. Looks like RFK Jr wants in on that action, too.

A couple years ago I read a post by a young artist that pointed out that crossing guard worked well for their life because it paid for a couple hours work each morning & afternoon, but provided full benefits. These are good jobs.

Our crossing guard greets every child by name each morning as she stops 4 lanes of traffic on Western.
