I know what you may think when seeing the monster form, but no, I did NOT pull from Among Us for her design. I wanted to do a different take on the whole "Mascot Monster" design, with the monster actually using said mascot as a false form rather than being the mascot itself.

Working on some monster designs for my game! Kinda went with a Spooky's Jumpscare approach with my designs, inspired from multiple horror media.
First up, Shylee! The main antagonist, and author of the book. Don't let her look fool you, she's not of this world...

One idea I thought of was making it so a candle needs to be lit to continue the story, with some factors sometimes snuffing out the light, making you have to reignite it to continue the narration, which would be told by a bodiless voice.

Having issues with figuring out a main gameplay idea, but with the theme being "Sit and Survive", the game involves a cursed/possessed storybook, while open, the monsters try to/immediately escape into the real world, with you needing to keep them away until the story ends.

Hoping participating in this will allow me to lock in and actually finish a game to a playable, released state!
For now, have the warning screen I came up with.

My OC, Rush. She is a Fairy in a green dress with brown leather gloves and boots. Her skin is tan with freckles and her hair is red. Her wings are grey moth wings with red spots. She is smiling and posed like Surge the Tenrec from IDW Sonic the Hedgehog Comics. She is standing on one leg and taking a step forward. One hand is behind her back, the other is held up with her hand making the "I love you" hand sign.

My OC Patches, who is a tall girl wearing a purple, stitched up, jacket and similarly stitched together pants of multiple colors. The tips of her brown spiky hair are also dyed pink, purple, red, and cyan to match her patched jacket and jeans. She is leaning on an old iron bridge and looking out at the river, A dirt pathway continues into the forest behind her.

Rush, a Fairy, Rune Knight, Barbarian. She is a small fairy wearing a green dress and leather boots and gloves. She has tan skin with freckles, red hair, and gray moth wings with red spots. She is leaning back and holding a battle axe that is way too big for her. The axe has left a crack in the ground. Rush is winking and smiling.

Rush wants to AXE you something... this may hurt a little...
