redesign sketch > render! haywood's my favorite so far (though I've only done 3 redesigns for now so that may change lol). my thesis for his redesign was that he needed to look huge and hulking, even if he seems tired and disinterested. so I added more layers and equipment to bulk him up!

seeing them side by side gives me genuine whiplash LMAO the new haywood on the left looks so much more fully realized than the original! he looks like he's actually lived a life

I felt that the original crime city character designs look too flat and modern when what I really want is a sort of steampunk noir-type vibe. so this is haywood reimagined! he's got a more heavy-duty holster for his guns and smokes and his body type aligns better with how I envisioned him

I've recently been redrawing (and redesigning!) the characters and sprites for my visual novel, crime city!!!! here's some wips of haywood, the chief inspector of police
