Gonna be quiet here for the next couple days because I've got an event coming up that I'm stressed about and it's gonna take all my energy to get through it.

I mean... not that anyone was keeping track. Just hate when my anxiety makes things more difficult than it needs to be.

Happy Black History Month, and yeah, we're still doing that.

I've never needed a game system that explicitly supports non-combat solutions or roleplay-heavy campaigns. DnD is not my favorite system, but it's a great entry point for folks curious about #ttrpgs. Beyond that--GMs, we have the power to decide how to run the game and when dice rolls are necessary.

I expect the PCs to continue gathering info and setting up the hit on the corrupt politician for at least one more session. My players are delightfully roleplay and world-building focused. Even in my DnD campaigns, combat happens as a result of RP, not because it is a necessary part of the game.

2) met the wife of an assassination target at a high-end spa and convincing her to go all in on the plot while also saving her moody friend from a potential drug OD

3) met the god of randomness, inadvertently summoned by a wild magic barbarian PC who is both attracted to & terrified by spontaneity

During yesterday's DnD game, the PCs

1) saved a robot girl infused with nanomachines from overheating after a malicious failsafe was activated while removing a tracking device from her, with help from dockworkers who provided a cart full of ice that was used to preserve a shipload of fish

Eww, I only slept maybe 3 hours last night. lnsomnia really sucks. I have untreated sleep apnea and have to go thru another sleep study with my new (admittedly better) insurance so I can acquire a cpap. At this point, I've become anemic, so getting the care I need has become a priority.

Ahh. I physically appear female but am somewhat averse to changing my outward appearance so other people see me as nonbinary. Like, a more androgynous appearance wouldn't necessarily give me gender euphoria. I kinda just dress and style and mod myself 'cause it's what appeals to me at the time.

I wouldn't know! I don't think we have met before. But I'm sure that's wrong, unless you think poison is a good thing, then maybe yes? 😅

And the big cheeto is trying to erase my gender altogether. I sadly feel relieved that I never acquired an "X" marker on any of my legal documents. Hiding in plain sight & letting people (outside queer spaces & trusted friends) assume I'm female continues to be a safer, if demoralizing option.

Yeah, at least in the bigger cities in CA, I don't think anything short of an invasion will stop Pride from happening.

I have a good number of trans friends nowadays, and it's a real and present fear for them that they will lose their gender affirming care and face even more exclusion and hate.

I love that a number of my friends have a nick that they still use that I still remember. That's made it easy to stalk... ermm, follow them. :D

One of my main issues with changing my first name is that I've used the same nick since I was 19!

This weekend I will be running my D&D game in which the PCs are planning to straight up Luigi a corrupt politician. The consensus was originally unsure, but then... well...

Personally, I love that we can use our hobby for catharsis. :) It's healthier than the alternatives.

Sometimes I just sit in the car, not driving anywhere, not doing anything, just stuck. Like I've run out of gas, except it's mental gas and not gas for the car.

I had a chat with a friend who is a professor at my alma mater, who said administrators there are still doing their best to support all students and faculty while making surface changes in light of the orders coming down from POTUS. It's not ideal, but it's not nothing.

Trying to pull myself away from the political train wreck to eat a food, since I've yet to eat all day. I have a place I usually go after therapy and my tummy is raring to go!

Ok now this is just petty. I told my spouse just now, this is when allies need to step up. Don't let politicians decide for us who exists or not.
