#COTD Jet is a very sweet FIV+ boy who came to us from a neglectful home in Wilkesboro, NC. An incredible woman rescued him, nursed him to health & helped him find his forever home here at BCR! He recently had eyelid surgery and is doing great!

#COTD Nugget was just a four-month-old kitten when he was brought to us. He had tested positive for leukemia and was rescued from Animal Control in Tennessee by a caring facility that drove him 8 hours to save his life.

#COTD Ziggy was about to start a new life, but suffered complications during her spay. This left lasting effects, taking her sight among other things. Her rescuer knew she needed long-term care, so now she’s found her forever home with us.

#COTD Porcini was an owner surrender. When she tested positive for FeLV, the owner tried to give her up to another shelter, but they refused to take her. Now she’s with us and loves taking naps on kurandas whether it’s inside or outside.

#COTD Smudge is a blind kitty that arrived with us in 2013 from a vet's office in Florida. It took many people to get Smudge to us and we are forever grateful! Smudge loves to lounge outside and run on the wheel occasionally.

#COTD Dot is FeLV+ kitty who arrived in 2019 from animal control in Tennessee. She was at a local trailer park that has over 100 cats! She’s a little lady with a big meow that she uses to yell at humans for attention and pets!
