Currently trying to write a review article on a topic I'd never even thought about until last month and now I'm having nightmares inspired by endless literature searches πŸ˜‚

I have Issues with the concept of writers block, such that I wrote a post on it. kjcharleswriter.com/2019/11/13/w...

There are a ton of things you can do if you're struggling to write, and none of them require using the theft-based environment-ruining plagiarism machine.

Computers used to scream every time they connected to the Internet. They knew. They tried to warn us. We did not listen.

Screenshot of Word's grammar check, suggesting that "Data ARE not mutually exclusive" is incorrect and that "Data is..." should be used instead.

Another egregious error from Microsoft Word

scientific publishing is fun because you write a 3000 word article describing years of work but nobody has time to read it so you write a 250 word abstract summarizing the key points but nobody has time to read it so you make a graphical abstract to hopefully catch someone's interest

I got a lot of hate last year for posting something similar in regards to April fools but I am once again asking you to please be considerate of your neurodivergent friends who may not get the joke or are stressed out by the threat of not catching into pranks.

I went into the office on Friday for training. Literally my only in-office all year. Someone was coughing. I now have bronchitis. πŸ˜·πŸ€’

Screenshot from Samsung health, showing a score of 81 ("Good")
The recommendation is "Get moving. Your active time has decreased compared to your usual. Insufficient activity may result in weight gain and other health issues. Try standing up, moving around, and reducing your sedentary time."

Fuck off Samsung, I'm literally sick right now

My brother gave me a bag of 36 tomatoes for my 36th birthday and I fear this is only funny if you're a south african.

I'm 200 000 words into a WIP fic and they FINALLY had their first kiss after 47 chapters of platonic marriage-of-convenience, so I've found the upper level of what I'm willing to tolerate in terms of slow burn 🀣

Whenever the media or transphobes talk about mental health and suicide rates of trans kids, they are always deliberately concealing the fact that trans healthcare brings trans kids to the same place as cis kids on these things
