How sure are you of that? I joined during open beta and it was already here then. That's how I found people to follow.
I read as much of that as I could stand. It really didn't seem any different from the articles where the subject ends up committing suicide.
So sad.
Okay. I don't have anything else to say on this topic, I guess.

Clearly, she shows no remorse, admits no wrongdoing.
Okay. I can't say your sense is wrong. Only that I am not picking up on any of this. Granted, I am not actively seeking it out, but OTOH, when things blew up back when they did, it was readily apparent to me, just from my Discover feed.
04.11.2025 02:27 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Okay. I'm not going to say your impression is wrong. I have to admit that he irritates me so much, so quickly, that it's been years since I watched a prolonged clip of him.

I mostly think he is showing signs of age. But I still sometimes think, "He's no different from when he was spewing nonsense 10 and 20 years ago."
I think the main reason he's tanking in approval ratings is b/c he's doing a horrible job, and it's not clear to me that this is b/c of senility.
2/2 sense that this site has a big problem either with allowing horrible people to stay, or with banning people who are not horrible. Yes, there are individual cases which have generated lots of controversy. But I don't see it as a structural problem, the way it became on Tw after Elno bought it.
04.11.2025 02:04 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I can't much speak to the user who was banned, b/c I never did get clear on the details of what happened there. I will say that my impression was back then (I think I said so then, too) was that I didn't think it was right, and at most, it should have been a temp suspension.
I don't get the 1/2
I can never decide. Sometimes I think that, other times I think this is how he has always been, as a con man: just keep repeating what you want people to believe, and eventually, lots of them do.

Yes, I remember that, if we're talking about the same user.
I don't want to relitigate it. I'm just saying that's what I meant when I said it was in the past (a month in Internet time! ;)).
It sure helped me get started when I first joined. But a lot of people dislike it.

I don't think it's weird to repost strangers. A good post is a good post.
(I get that not everyone likes the Discover tab, but I do.)
I heard about some of that (and should have mentioned it), but really, wasn't that also pretty much back then, too? Or have I missed more recent developments?

Also, she is second to no one on this planet when it comes to loyalty to Trump, which is the most important criterion with this regime.

Heh, yes. I was thinking the same thing a few minutes ago. This would ordinarily be a big no-no, to acknowledge an endorsement received by your opponent, but in this case? The toxicity explains everything, doesn't it?
04.11.2025 00:11 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0It really is. I remember a few years ago reading a really good piece of political coverage on Teen Vogue. Flabbergasted! But it wasn't a fluke, I came to realize.
Hope all those laid off can form up something new.
I can't think that I've ever seen someone ask that question who had only posted the headline.
(If you hadn't already noticed, I am always on people to stop posting screenshots of headlines, and instead to post links.)
Imagine if you paid "$1,899 to $3,499" for a new refrigerator and the manufacturer decided after you bought it to download a software update that would start showing ads on the fridge's screen.
(Quite why you bought a fridge with a screen in the first place is another question.)
