With some fussing I was able to shut off the PDF assistant. But I have very old machines. Mostly I'm Linux, open office. I shut off the assist in gmail too. I also have just now gotten a new, more private email service. Proton. Trying it out. I want options.

Is that rosemary? The bees in NM in my yard are all over the rosemary bush. It's the only thing in bloom and it's been 70 out for a few days. The sage, which is usually their favorite, has not bloomed yet. So glad I have the rosemary (three bushes!)

That's how my choosing a book went yesterday afternoon...hard to get away from it all. Ugh. Maybe that's why I write cozies. Although, to be fair, a lot of fantasy can completely avoid real-world scenarios.

I generally don't submit to magazines anymore. It's easier to publish short stories myself. Sure, I might get a little more reach in a magazine than my standard reach, but I definitely would not support a magazine that supported AI anything. This industry is difficult enough without AI.

Some nice bee plants for NM if you are planting this year: sage of any kind, they prefer reds, (also found under salvia), rosemary bush can feed bees all year long as they blossom any time it gets warm. Mesquite, ocotillo, pear cactus (all have thorns), let your cilantro and arugula flower and seed.
