Last shop background and also the kitchen for this zone. The kitchens were particularly challenging because of how busy they were, but still, ton of fun to work on them.

All the NPC shop backgrounds + kitchen for the "Cirque Faeriel" zone. I was super excited to work on these because the aesthetic was a lot of fun and all the NPCs to go with it were gorgeous.

I also did the kitchen design for this zone as well which included a clean and messy version of every interact-able item. I had never done work like this and it was a great learning experience!

That thread is the most I've spoken on social media in months lol

It's funny because I've never felt like I could call what I do with art my "career", which is silly bc it's all I've ever wanted to do and I've spent my whole life working on my craft. I went to college, I've worked multiple gigs, I've made many comics (and still am ofc), it's my vocation in life!

Maybe art was never meant to be a lucrative career choice, certainly not for me anyway, but it could be something that changes and enriches you. If that’s something that you can find value in, then you can start to see why we do it at all.

This thread has gone on long enough, and suddenly becoming unemployed after being employed for 10 years straight has me feeling a certain way, but if this motivates you in any way to take action and show more support then thank you!! Artists couldn't do what we do without you!!!!

AND WHILE WE'RE STILL ALIVE!!!! I can keep working on my art and trying to figure out what to make a new safety net out of for the present, but what will always keep me going is knowing that I've touched someone in some way with my work. If you love someone's work, PLEASE tell them, and others!!

But taking a moment to talk to someone about the things you enjoyed will always be more powerful and helpful than any viral marketing strategy. We hear this sentiment a lot, but it bears repeating how much of a difference it makes to take the time to discuss the things you read/watched/played/etc.

It would be if my art or my comics have ever moved you or piqued your interest, tell someone about them! If my comics have maybe been on your tbr pile, maybe take this opportunity to take a chance on them and see if they're worth your while. There's many things vying for our attention these days-

I can't guarantee myself a lucrative career out of my art, nor can I rely on the kindness of others, and another dayjob is just something I have to take responsibility for myself. The world is in such a state that high risks can be devastating, BUT- if there's one thing I can ask for in this time...

I love my work and what I do, but I'm no master artist and I don't have a viral bone in my body to cash in on trending numbers. I suppose I could ask for support by directing people to my patreon or ko-fi (which you are welcome to if you're so inclined...) but in the long run... Then what?

This could be taken as a sign to finally take the brave plunge to make art full-time and throw caution to the wind but pursuing art is alien to me in this age of marketability and virality that the industry now hinges on. It's a hustle culture that I'm not even sure it's worth suffering for.

Art has been a constant for me. It's my greatest comfort and most reliable companion all throughout my life, hardship and otherwise. It's occupied more hours in my day than anything else, it's my reason for being and yet it always has to be set aside to make space for a "real" job.

But I've spent a lot of time in these recent years wracking my brain of what I could possibly switch course to, but.... I come up with nothing. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough, and maybe I just need to pick something at random, but it's just not a hurdle I've been able to clear yet.
