Thanks to @uniheidelberg.bsky.social and Excellence Cluster 3D Matter Made to Order for their support!
So next time you ask yourself the scary question —
🧠 “What’s the elastic modulus of my material?” —
remember: no tricks, just mechanical treats! 🍬🔬👻
🧩 Our TOC figure shows how the nano-FFA approach pieces together the puzzle linking printing parameters, ink composition, and mechanical properties
Turns out, not only the crosslinker, but also your choice of photoinitiator can make your printed parts much stiffer (or softer)! ⚙️
Across 3 scenarios (varying photoinitiator concentration, photoinitiator type & crosslinker type — 9 inks total), we found that the interaction between ink component & laser power is the most significant factor for property tunability 💡
To shine some light 🔦 on the mysterious relationships between ink composition and mechanical properties, we propose the nano-FFA approach — combining #SEM, #Nanoindentation, and #FullFactorialAnalysis 🧪 @nanoscribe.com @brukercorporation.bsky.social

3D printing at the microscale is very cool, but navigating the vast parameter space in multiphoton 3D laser printing can be a little… spooky 👻

And if that wasn’t enough for one week… On Thursday, I officially submitted my thesis surrounded by supportive colleagues and friends! 🎓🎉 Now I’m shifting my energy toward preparing for my defense in December. Wish me luck! 🚀🍀
Huge thanks to the Ambassador, the Embassy team, Katia Tabuenca, María Travieso (Proexca), and my supervisor Eva plus Juan Luis & Mar for making this possible. Special mention to Sociedad Cerfa, whose 2025 calendar sparked this opportunity! 🙌
The event was moderated by @sherezademr.bsky.social and streamed live. You can re-watch it here: www.twitch.tv/videos/25738...
I shared the stage with inspiring panelists:
👩🔬 Eva Blasco @blascolab.bsky.social (@uniheidelberg.bsky.social)
🌱 Juan Luis Gómez Pinchetti (Spanish Bank of Algae)
🌊 Mar Fernández-Méndez @mar-tropical.bsky.social (@macrocarbon.bsky.social)
What a week! ✨🌱
On Tuesday I had the honor of presenting our research at the Spanish Embassy in Berlin during the symposium “Algae: From the Sea (through the Lab) to the Market.”
This week, I had the honor of partipating in an event the Spanish Embassy in Berlin. Together with @claravamar.bsky.social, Juan Luis (Banco Español de Algas) and Mar (MacroCarbon), we discussed the exciting potential of (micro)algea 🌱 ♻️. Moderation: @sherezademr.bsky.social
The countless days at the Nanoindenter and discussions after looking at the results finally paid off. I am pretty happy about how this story turned out 👨🏽🔬👩🏻🔧👩🏻💻👨🏼💻
It is a classic research story of how trying to tackle one problem led to a discovery of a much bigger and important problem. I want to thank my Post-doctoral advisor @blascolab.bsky.social and my super talented colleague @claravamar.bsky.social
I wanted to share this earlier, but it was hard to focus on science in the last couple of days. My work on benchmarking mechanical properties of 3D printed Elastomeric microstructures is officially published!

A systematic review and meta-analysis in Nature Human Behaviour shows that people discern true from false news with ease. When making mistakes, people err on the side of skepticism and rate true news as false, instead of being fooled by false news. https://go.nature.com/4h6TQZC 🧪
Some really interesting articles in this special issue from Science Advances - I'm working my way through them all! @science.org

Nanobrücken 2025 was inspiring and in the best company @socatt.bsky.social! Great to see a broad palette of materials, from metals to biological structures like lignin & insect jaws. Huge thanks to Bruker & FraunhoferIMWS for a fantastic event—and for the Best Student Talk Award! Until next time! ⭐️
Super excited to share my latest submitted work as preprint!
