The day after right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk's assassination, Patel reportedly refused to disembark from the FBI jet in Utah without an FBI raid jacket. Agents working on the Kirk case were sent scrambling to find one, and when they did, it was a female jacket. He reportedly threw a fit when he saw the sleeves were missing Velcro patches. Patel refused to leave the plane until he got the missing patches, which ended up being taken off the jackets of actual SWAT team members.

the reason for the success of D&D over other TTRPGs is name brand recognition and legacy, but also because it is simultaneously a structured game with rules about what you can do and what your abilities do, and also says "eh if you want to do something else just do it who cares just buy our stuff"

i can't find it but there's a tumblr post about a fandom where everyone is talking about how good the toast is at a new restaurant and then it turns out they were all bringing their own jam to the restaurant and putting it on the toast. that's how i feel about gay stuff in dnd

This is a huge part of why so many people think we're in the middle of a widespread "anti-woke backlash": Small movements opposed to social progress are collected into trend stories by conservative media. Far larger movements that want more diversity are ignored or cast as threats.

Even by the standards of anti-woke journalism this is lazy dreck. The first piece of "evidence" that older gamers are mad about wokeness is a random Reddit comment — that isn't a complaint about wokeness.
