I enjoy the David McWilliams podcast usually but he came out with some completely baffling and scorching hot takes in this episode.

Well you're saying that as an artist so I can certainly understand the hostility. I do tech support and it's sure as shit coming for my job. The only genuinely worthy uses for AI that I can think of are in accessibility and medical diagnosis/research. The rest is mostly nonsense.

isn't the main goal of the project. Replacing artists with AI is never going to happen IMO. It's the same thinking as when photography was invented. We still have painters. If someone uses it to augment their process but not straight up replace it I wouldn't immediately write them off.
