Our new paper accepted in Phys. Rev. D!
We measured how radon daughters ²¹⁰Pb/²¹⁰Po diffuse in Nylon-6 - much faster at high humidity - informing ultra-low-background detectors for dark matter & neutrinos.

Scientific Seminar: MicroBooNE finds no evidence for a single sterile neutrino YouTube video by Fermilab

Neutrinos keep surprising us 👀
In their latest result, #MicroBooNE used one detector and two beams to test the idea of a fourth, “sterile” neutrino. Their data show no sign of it and rule out that model with 95% certainty.
Congrats to our colleagues at @fermilab.bsky.social & MicroBooNE!

The upcoming LBNF-DUNE experiment will go even further, studying neutrinos to search for the answer to one of the most fundamental questions in science: Where did all the matter in our universe come from? (In other words: Why is there something rather than nothing?) 🧪🔭

SNOLAB uses a special technique to measure trace amounts of radon in infrastructure and experiments in the underground laboratory. This method, a radon assay, requires cryogenic temperatures to make it work.
