There is no measured way to say what I am about to say.

If the Supreme Court agrees with the Trump administration to end birthright citizenship, we must end this current Supreme Court.

I do not say this lightly.

Hi @crittermamma6.bsky.social

Thanks for applying to join the feed.

There isn't much on your profile about astronomy or astrophotography. Are you a student, or perhaps have a portfolio showing your astronomy related work?

Hey! Leave my senator alone!

The Honorable Chuck has done many impactful things during my life. Like speaking at all of my graduations, and even interrupting my college graduation by stopping the processional half-way since he had to leave early (hes a very busy man).

a man in a plaid shirt and tie is sitting in front of a computer monitor with a fire behind him Alt: Clip from The IT Crowd where Moss, a man played by Richard Ayoade in a plaid shirt and tie is sitting in front of a computer monitor, trying to focus on work while sometimes glazing at a fire burning next to his desk in the office.

I love having a job where nearly every day I look at thousands of images we took of outer space, with their stars and galaxies and all, but the contrast with the situation down here has me like…

Your electricity bill is going up because data centers are raising demand, not because your utility started scaling out some renewables. Pass it on.

Just finished teaching my first in-person class after two semester of being online.

We’ll see how the rest of the semester goes, but the first day was awesome! Students were super engaged (for an 8am lab) and polite, we had great discussions, and only one student took my whole pad of sticky notes 😂

Talk to a chatbot if you find yourself in mental crisis. No wait, call 911 & have the cops shoot you. No wait, call 988 & have a social worker lock you in the psych ward. The options are shit & if the culture didn’t hate the mad they wouldn’t be.

So, what can we say about the latest GWTC 4 catalogue?
In some ways, it's not too surprising, it's a 'firming up' of the clues we were getting from GWTC 3. But there's a couple of neat things: So, AGN channel perspective follows

Ok so my comment on GWTC4 & associated rates & pops paper (2508.18083) is: if you model redshift evolution purely as a power law, you can only get a single value slope. If you model it with a spline (as they do in Fig 10 below), it rises pretty steeply to z~1, then flattens.

Instagram automatically turning on location tracking AND it being viewable by followers is one of the dumbest features I’ve ever seen added to an app.

Like whoever thought “let’s add a doxing feature” to the app where people already get doxed for what they support is fucking insane.
