Strategy 11: Connect Open Science initiatives
@lmu-osc.bsky.social coordinates and connects internal initiatives, like the Open Science Initiative in Medicine, and external networks, such as @germanrepro.bsky.social.
We hope to amplify the impact of all initiatives and foster collaborations!

Strategy 10: Create resource hubs
@lmu-osc.bsky.social is a network of 100+ members who contribute training resources, organize events, and who lobby within their respective committees in favor of open science.

Strategy 9: Build community-learning opportunities
At the LMU, @lmu-osc.bsky.social fosters the exchange of ideas & critical reflection by organizing various meetups, e.g. the @reproducibilitea.org journal club, or the Hacky Hour.

Strategy 8: Integrate replication studies into courses
To ignite metascientific skills, students are asked to reproduce analyses from articles (e.g. with OSC member Heidi Seibold from @digiresacademy.bsky.social) or conduct registered replications (e.g. see @giladfeldman.bsky.social's work!)

Bringing transparency to research practice The Volkswagen Foundation is funding two LMU Open Science Center (OSC) projects designed to firmly embed open practices within research.

Strategy 7: Conduct interventions for research groups
We help research groups switch to open practices with self-paced tutorials, tailored resources, and by writing a lab handbook to onboard new members.

Strategy 6: Offer Hands-On Training
We provides self-paced tutorials on computing skills via github.com/lmu-osc, for researchers to learn or teach reproducible practices.
We also train instructors with @thecarpentries.bsky.social to offer live-coding workshops where students can follow along.

Strategy 5: Embed Open Science in other courses
Teachers can integrate training on reproducible workflow, data management, and rigorous methodology, into courses on other subjects, without adding teaching hours.
OSC members, e.g. @boulesteixlaure.bsky.social, have successfully applied this!

Strategy 4: Provide Open Science training
@lmu-osc.bsky.social offers peer-to-peer workshops, lectures, and an annual summer school to teach transparent & reproducible research practices.
