Celebrating Dr Sergiu Dumitrescu’s successful PhD defense at
MedUni Vienna! His work shows that certain reactive oxygen species from NOX4 are essential for the proliferation of human amniotic stem cells. Sergiu will continue as a Postdoc in the Sepsis-Trauma-Shock Group of our Marcin Osuchowski.

Congrats to Vanessa Geyik on earning her MSc. Vanessa worked on vascularized skin equivalents with perfused hierarchical vasculature, to be used in wound healing & aging studies. Big thanks to Barbara Bachmann, Heinz Redl, & Mikolaj Ogrodnik for their guidance.

Congrats to Dr. Marlene Wahlmüller on defending her PhD at JKU Linz! 👏👏 In a joint project between Morphomed & LBI Trauma, she explored how ASCs can transform personalized medicine - investigating how lipedema, donor age, and senescence affect therapeutic stem cell function.
