Georgia attacked South Ossetia in 2008. The conflict between left bank of the Dniester River & Moldova was known since 1989 and originates from Stalin’s decisions. There was conflict in Georgia SSR that caught the attention of the CIA in 1990 as Georgian chauvinism was proving to be problematic.

Saakashvili invaded South Ossetia. Russia responded later. Saakashvili’s overall actions had discreetly benefited the Russians but not many took a deep look at him.

Russia didn’t capture either. They were already independent since the early 90s as a result of Georgian aggression.

Abkhazia & South Ossetia are not occupied. The US & Europe, along with rest of the world, abandoned & isolated the autonomous republics & those that didn’t have representative structures across the post Soviet space. Saakashvili’s actions should have drawn suspicion instead of pity & sympathy.

Tiraspol & the left bank was part of Ukraine prior to 1940 while Moldova was part of Romania. Ossetia was split in half. The administrative lines for a number of the union republics shouldn’t have been accepted to be borders for independent countries.

Abkhazia was abandoned to a Russian blockade for over a decade after the Georgian-Abkhazian War and almost everyone turned a blind eye to it. This narrative to continue to isolate them only makes them turn to Russia is ignorant & idiotic. When did so many of you become Stalinists?

Abkhazians will fight hard against the Georgians again. The Georgians are the ones that lost both Abkhazia & South Ossetia due to their own chauvinism & aggression. Besides spilling Caucasian blood doesn’t weaken Russia, it weakens the defensive abilities of Abkhazia, South Ossetia & Georgia.
