Dwelling on the past. Those responsible died out”
“It was the sages. The full brunt of paradiso sent to kill us. Because they were scared. Some brat convinced them of something or another. Said brat is dead”
She shrugs.
“Even the power of god isn't enough to stop a determined umbra witch. That was a long time ago however. No point ->
“Plenty of people fear me. For good reason. You don’t look this good by being an angel darling”
“I fear the only other witches here are Jeanne and I. You are welcome to try. Though my contract is specific. So it’ll have to be fast”
Leave it to her, to not care about the threat. Hell, she didn't even bat an eye at it.
“Witches like me were long since hunted down”
Flying overhead the witch simply drops down to the angel. Using a quick stop from Madama to clear things up around her.
“How boring. They send little ones for the likes of us? I'm insulted”
She hums looking around.
“Disappointing”
“I’ve run into a few bloodsuckers in my time. Though they tend to avoid me for some reason..”
It might be the part sage thing. And the being really tall-
“Oh well I suppose”
Ever sit and reflect?
She does. Should've used more flashy moves in combat…
She stomped a foot on the devil.
“Well? Go on” the bird lifts off flying after her counterpart.
Bayo didn't really care how this ended. She just wanted to kill the damn angels.
“Madama is one of the strongest demons in Inferno. It’s only fitting that the strongest witch has a contract with her”
Her patrons replaced her own shadow. Hence the butterfly theme overall.
“I was strong before I signed the contract. Now I don't worry about my magic”
“The names Bayonetta. The least popular witch in the eyes of Paradiso.”
She adjusted her glasses.
The blood and body soon explode into golden energy.
Fading as quickly as it appeared.
“An angel. And now I’m sure more will show themselves. They do enjoy trying to kill me”
“Revolting. A thing like you should learn to use your own voice. Mimicry is not flattery”
She tilts her head.
“I’m an umbra witch. And the left eye of darkness.”
After what she's been through it makes sense. Having lost so much, and then having to regain her memories.
“The presence you feel is a very angry Madama. Don't mind her”
She gave a small dry laugh
“Oh, such a naive little one.”
She stopped by the monster and stomped on its head, her heel gun blasting a hole clear through it.
“Watch closely”
“Cereze. Bayonetta.”
She pushed up her glasses.
“I’m hardly five hundred. I have a couple of hundred years before I'm at the end of my life little one”
“Scared of a little demon? Ah right you can't seem them”
She dismisses the spider from its place in Purgatorio.
“Normal chaos born can't see them”
The umbra witch was already facing them when they reappeared.
“High and mighty? Far from it. I’m simply acting my age.”
“Is that where we are? Seems I’ve walked quite a ways.”
The witch sighed.
“I doubt that’ll have kicked it. Things around here tend to turn to gold dust when they die”
For good reason. Five hundred years have given her one hell of a trigger finger.
“I never was a fan of animals. To roudy, and unruly. Like a pet off leash”
She summons a spider, the size of the raptor. The smallest she's managed to summon so far. “Go play”
“How crude. A beast mimicking me again. The last one that did that died. I made quick work of her”
Bayonetta twirled her gun. Watching the mortal monster.
She's gonna sit in limbo and people watch. Unseen and ever-present.
“What an.. Ugly thing.” she was far from fond of animals. In fact, she only liked cats. And even that was rare.
“Certainly not something I need to bother with”
“My sounds like a brat needs correcting.”
In a puff of butterflies her gun appears in hand.
“Proving my point by acting like a spoiled brat. How very…original”
In usual Bayonetta fashion, it flies right by narrowly missing her…and she's unflinching, and unfazed as if she knew it would hit her.
“My, what a kick. Poor sod might stay down for a bit”
“Mhm? You’d be surprised just what I can do”
She stomped a foot to summon Malphas. Rising atop the demon. “If it’s a race... Then I accept”
So long as the demon was being used by their rightful master she had access to them. She wasnt certain why yet..
“If you must. Don't slow me down. I’d like to be back to have a drink sooner than later”,
“Something like that yes”
She nods.
“Simple and effective”
“I have angels to kill. It’s why I left the bar. Rodin needs something from a corpse, and I plan to provide”
Her own expression never changed. Simply staying blank.
…
…
Nope, she’s not cut out to unpack whatever is going on here.
“How childish”
