In our Rheo-PLI-SAXS experiments (yes, that’s a mouthful, but trust us, it’s cool), we uncovered how hierarchical systems align under shear. Spoiler: biphasic suspensions of cellulose nanocrystals are drama queens - orienting at mesoscale way before nanoscale gets the memo. 🤷‍♀️
