Autism isn’t a tragedy. But losing our son’s beautiful smile and sense of self to ABA would’ve been. His first social worker used ABA. It did real harm. He thought he had to mask who he is. Thank God we knew better and got him away. Now he’s thriving, being his best self because he can BE himself.

Wow… this is disturbing. I was at Wendy’s with my mom and this guy was getting his order while talking on the phone. This is what I overheard him saying “She isn’t even hot like that. You would rape that? Nah, not even worth raping…” He walked out of the restaurant after that…..

Not sure why we use crickets as a metaphor for silence. The ones in my bearded dragon’s cage were so loud last night I’m convinced they smuggled in megaphones and held a TED Talk.

Bluey makes everyone cry. Like my kids are way passed the Bluey demographics ( They are 22 and 14) and we all still love watching Bluey. If Pixar and Bluey ever do a combined project together, we are all done.

Looking over a vendor’s VPAT and they state they have tested the product with assistive technology . I start my assessment and within minutes I find repeated keyboard traps galore. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Also, keep copies of all the articles shared with you and all your writings you do for your classes. You will be amazed how you will be able to reuse a lot of the materials for various assignments. Keep a list/ record of all the references you use.

Currently doing this, though my doctorate journey is almost at an end( I graduate May 2026). Set time aside for homework/classwork and stick to it. Find a physical space that is just your work space. And have open communication with your professors. And be okay with the imperfect.
