Two of the winners were also winners of our homebrewing competition organised by our chair @beer4john.bsky.social, and both members of @brewclubshef.bsky.social. Huge congrats again to all the winners.
The winners of our beer of the festival have been announced! Congrats to the following:
Gold – @torrside.bsky.social Grendel with homebrewer Jon Britton.
Silver – Bridgehouse Rum & Raisin Stout
Bronze - @marblebrewers.bsky.social Stratagem, which was with homebrewer Joe Lee.
Congratulations to @brewclubshef.bsky.social member Jon Britton & @torrside.bsky.social whose collab beer 'Grendel' has won beer of the festival at @skbeerfestival.bsky.social !🏆
Joe Lee's collab with @marblebrewers.bsky.social 'Stratagem' came 3rd🥳
Let me introduce you to Beowulf & Grendel. Both brewed @torrside.bsky.social with Jon Britton (winner of Stout/Porter category of Homebrewer competition). A historic style London Porter with the Grendel being the Imperial version. Both are superb. @ssmcamra.bsky.social @skbeerfestival.bsky.social

Theakston Old Peculier from the wood a highlight at @skbeerfestival.bsky.social
*a lot of the pale ales we have on offer taste of grapefruit which is ok if that’s your kinda thing. Ours is an inclusive event!
🚨We’re down to the last six cans of Grapefruit Schöff on the bottle and can bar. When it runs out you’ll have to drink cask ale🚨
Which is exactly our plan. We’re the campaign for real ale, not the campaign for grapefruit pale.
I have resisted for so long, but I have caved and started doing video on my Instagram. Just a short weekly vid, which this weeks is recorded at @skbeerfestival.bsky.social and features the one and only @beer4john.bsky.social! Find it here:

Congratulations to @thornbridge and Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery, their Strong Dark Mild brewed on the Burton Union Set is superb. Soft, caramel, dark fruity malts and full bodied. Lovely. At the @ssmcamra.bsky.social @skbeerfestival.bsky.social
Food? Put a bhaji on it. Don’t go hungry at the 37th Stockport Beer & Cider festival by visiting one of our excellent food traders. Pairs very well with a Zapato Oso pale ale, take it from me.
Just doing a little bit of quality control on the Theakston’s Old Peculier from the Wood. Find it on Bar Nouveau on the first floor!
Stockport! Today is the day! Our Trade session opens at 15:30 and we open to the public at 17:30. Advance tickets are still available, although you can pay on the door if you like to keep things casual. Get a ticket here:

Do you know what's lovely? Cider. Do you know what else is lovely? Perry. And we've got loads of both at our festival, which kicks off this Thursday and runs until Saturday the 21st! Come and enjoy a lovely fruit-based beverage at the Guildhall this week!

I will be sweating it out on the bottle and can bar all day Thursday and Friday, so I expect to be busy, because we've got lots of lovely lager (and I may well tear into the RedWillow Godless helles myself tbqh)
Thanks to our glorious overlords at @camraofficial.bsky.social for featuring our little fest in What's Brewing. Lots of lovely detail about what you can expect from the fest here (spoiler, its world class independently produced beer and cider.)

Find me (when not on shift) enjoying an OP from the wood.
Not forgetting we'll also have a wide range of lagers, lambics, low alcohol beers and more at our bottle and can bar, plus a huge selection of ciders and perries! There's only one place to be June 19th-21st, and that's Stockport.
The full beer list for our festival is now available to peruse online, and it's really quite something. Read it here, and make sure you grab your advance ticket while you're browsing:
