So a couple recommendations I've gotten lately.

Spend more time on quicker sketches.
Study artists who you think do good stuff.

So here's an attempt at a supergirl study from one of my favorites, @artgerm.bsky.social , Stanley Lau.

In preparation for an upcoming pic series, I decided it would make sense to formalize Violet's design in my new style.

So I did a character profile!

Violet's character informs how I depict her, so this was well worth the effort.

Posted a breakdown of a couple of my WIP drawings over on... The o t h e r site! Long and short of it is, I'm doing a progression series of Violet getting tickled in stocks, but I realized, after nearly finishing 2/5, that a bunch of stuff is wrong.

I hustled to make sure I could deliver an animation, and while I'll admit I cut a few subtle corners, I'm super proud of how it turned out!

It takes me a while to execute on a set of construction shapes I make, so it's a bummer when I have one that ends up not turning out right.

The last couple studies haven't been great for final products, so I don't have anything to post right now, sorry to say!

After two weeks of just drawing, I think I need to work on drawing 3d forms. A lot of my art doesn't acknowledge the rules of perspective, and I'm struggling with Loomis because I can't reliably draw circles.

This is the drill I've been doing. Wild how the ratio of lines changes on cubes.

You just put down two full human figures freehand to start this one out?! I kneel man. I hope I can do that some day! I gotta fiddle with construction shapes for each of my pieces xD

So, I'm real new to drawn art... But I'm really finding the breadth of opportunities to express myself really exciting. I was talking with a buddy, and it dawned on me... I could just... Make my own comic.

Tell stories with my art? That's all I've ever wanted to do!

At the moment, I'm developing an Android port of the current snapshot of development.

I'm pretty fresh as far as #indiedev goes, so forgive the slow progress, but when I'm not posting animations, I'm probably going to use this account to babble about what I've been up to codingwise.

As a heads-up, since you guys might not know this, my 'claim to fame' is a free video game I've been developing called "Featherbound".

It's an interrogation game where you work information out of my mage character Eliza through #tickling her.
