i'm not surprised it's taking time for them to find their footing when the bar for suspension of disbelief is so much higher and everything they do is so much more expensive and time-consuming

in the recent ato event, literally none of the tower defense stages were diegetic, and that was fine b/c there wasn't any expectation that the gameplay has to 100% accurately reflect what is happening in the story
