Ahhhh !
In Madrid in the late 90s we saw a 4-hour flamenco show (no dance, just voice and guitar). Uncomfortable wooden chairs in a packed theater and you could have heard a pin drop.

I found it satirical. They put her up to ridicule by allowing her to be who she is and reporting it in her own style.

In the spring I was narrowly missed by a giant SUV whose driver turned right not seeing me crossing because of another giant SUV parked at the corner. Even running out of her path she didnโ€™t see me. This was a local 2-lane street in Brooklyn Heights.

Why is every knocking the NYT? She works for VF and before New York Magazine, never NYT. This is the kind of โ€œOMG this person was actually taken as a serious journalistโ€ reporting we need. It puts her exactly as she should be โ€” a laughingstock.

I see older (60+) people booking big, expensive travel 12-24 months out. How? I can barely do 4 months out. For me itโ€™s the state of the world, but then thereโ€™s also health concerns in aging. The best thing about being retired is being able to be spontaneous.

A wonderful young tour guide (PhD in history) in Germany told us his grandmother said the kids in their town learned that people came in colors when the US came through. Trump/Hegseth erasing it.

I kept thinking Mamdani needs to look at real estate taxes for both renters (landlords with nonluxury apts?) and owners. Maybe a break for real city residents who already pay city income taxes. My 105 unit coop now pays $1MM a year โ€” thatโ€™s about $8K for a one bedroom apt.

Too many 20-30 something with good incomes buy when they should rent. They pay for a lot for a home they donโ€™t intend to stay for long but expect significant profit when they sell. NYC is filled with a lot of $800-100K apts. itโ€™s unsustainable.

Indiana Professor Removed From Class Over White Supremacy Lesson

The professor will no longer be able to teach a class on diversity after she showed students a diagram that included the โ€œMake America Great Againโ€ slogan as an example of white supremacy

I honestly do not understand how insurers can advetise "Medicare plans" that include dental, vision, etc. It is so misleading. Medicare doesn't cover those; they are Medicare Advantage plans, which even then are misleading.

I had to explain that working for an insurer, our premiums were not cheap and had a choice of plans with limited benefits and high deductibles. People with the highest incomes also get the best benefits and have no idea how lucky they are.

Every time I hear the GOP talk about health insurance I recall a time I assisted at an open enrollment at a big consulting firm. I was talking with people who had unlimited IVF covered, all possible services for autistic kids, etc. one guy said I must have great insurance. 1/2

The Kremlin disguised a nearly $100 mn payment to Trump in the form of a brokered real estate deal... and both Jeffrey Epstein and William Pulte were involved in the deal. That's very interesting.
