After today I decided I never again want to waste my time arguing with cis gays about why supporting Harry Potter and the Queen of the TERFs is harmful, so I wrote a blog summarizing the whole thing. Please do share it widely instead of wasting yours.

I just did a head count and all of the main characters and their close friends in Author, Author are either queer or trans or trusted allies. Even Harlan’s mom is unfazed by her son being gay, which is a lot for a story set in 1957. We have always been here!

Not really! She is an academic, and I write romance novels. But she taught me to love books and reading, so it all circles around in the end.

My mother is a writer and I remember her early attempts at fiction. This influence simmered under the surface until we got our first computer in 1990. I wrote a bunch of terrible teenage stuff, then ignored writing for the next 20 years while I tried other things. Now its all I do.
