Thanks to @jfranks_photoweb on Instagram for sharing this photo of a green woodpecker spotted in a London cemetery πŸ’šπŸͺΆ

The green woodpecker is the UK’s largest woodpecker. It has a barbed tongue to help pull insects from crevices in the bark.

Have you ever seen a green woodpecker in London? πŸ‘€πŸ‘‡

It was such a spectacle seeing how brilliantly they have adapted to city life.

Got deer local to you, maybe even popping by for a cheeky snack in your front garden? 🌿

London's Local Nature Recovery Strategy The LNRS is part of a new system of spatial biodiversity strategies in England, required by law under the Environment Act 2021. London is one of the 48 regions tasked with creating this strategy.

Taking part in the consultation is a really important way to take action for nature in our city - even just adding your support makes a difference.

The consultation closes tomorrow, Wednesday 29th at 23:59. Follow the link to have your say:

The LNRS is a new plan that sets out how local communities, councils, landowners and organisations can work together to help nature recover across the capital.

The Greater London Authority (GLA) is currently consulting on this strategy and wants to hear what Londoners think.
