Happy No Kings Day everyone!

@nonamedstranger.bsky.social Andy woke up in the morning like usual and groggily went into the kitchen to get some coffee to wake herself up. Opening the kitchen window curtain to let some sunlight into the house.

Happy Birthday to the king of horror @stephenking.bsky.social ! I've been a fan of his work ever since High School when I first came across his book Pet Semetary and decided to use that for a book report. You'll always be my favorite author.

@kroolestking.bsky.social Using a discarded nail she had found laying around, the yellow squirrel tried to pick the lock of her cell. Reaching through the bars she stuck the sharp end into the lock and began to wiggle it around, hoping it would work so she could finally escape the evil king.

She stood there dumbfounded, but unable to do anything about it due to his minions standing guard.

"I can't believe you. You low down lying lizard! You spineless salamander!"

"H-hey the deal was I get the Crystal Coconut for you and you let me go. You never said anything about my potions."

The squirrel glared at her captor, balling up her fists in anger.

"How about finally letting me go?"

The squirrel was off to the side, flanked by a couple of King K. Rool's Kremlins to prevent her from escaping.

"I did what you told me to do."

She covered her mouth to keep herself from making any sounds. After what felt like hours, she decided to take a risk and see where he was. Slowly sticking her head out to survey the jungle layout.

Ducking into the treeline, the squirrel pushed her way through the foliage before finding a hollow tree. She carefully climbed inside and curled herself up as good as she could to ensure no part of her was sticking out of her hiding place.

Her eyes widened a touch up on coming to that very same realization. So in a desperate attempt, she bolted straight out of the broken door. Running as fast as she could to try and escape.

If she wasn't nervous before, then she sure was nervous now. She didn't like how he asked the question, and she felt a knot form in the pit of her stomach.

She froze right in her tracks once the weapon was aimed at her and slowly raised her hands.

"I-if you do anything to me...then you won't get the information about the Crystal Coconut."

With her heart pounding in her chest, Andy knew she had to try and escape. So against her better judgement, she tried to slip around King K. Rool.

"I'm not telling you anything!"

"I don't know anything about it apart from the stories that everybody already knows!"

She said quickly, trying to flatten herself against her book shelf even further.

The color drained from her face once he brought up her ancestor.

"H-how did you know about him?"

Her voice shook as she stuttered in terror.

"I...I don't know what you're talking about. You must have...hit your head harder than you thought after taking a fall like that."

She said, referring to their first encounter.

"The Crystal Coconut is just a myth."

She said nervously, almost as if she was trying to hide something.

"W-what could you possibly want with me?! I've never done anything to you!"

The poor squirrel tried to look for an easy way out, but with K. Rool standing between her and and possible escape route she was quick to come to that realization.

The squirrel let out another shrill shriek, dropping her backpack that she was trying to pack up in her haste. She quickly turned around to see her door busted in from the blast. The king had her cornered now as she backed up against her bookshelf, trembling out of fear.

Letting out a shriek, she threw open the door to her home before dashing inside and slamming it behind her. Making sure to lock it from the inside in an attempt to keep K. Rool out.

"Not today you over grown leather bag!"

Forgetting about the fish she was trying to catch for her lunch, the squirrel dropped the pole before attempting to run back inside her hut. Running around the side in the opposite direction to avoid whatever was coming from the trees.
