i thought it was orthodoxy in set theory that that’s exactly how you individuate sets. sets x and y are identical iff they have exactly the same members. anyway, i’m not a fan of rigid designation; i just found your remark puzzling and was curious what more there was behind it.

so, the extension of “is a dog” is the set of all dogs and it’s rigid if its extension is the same set in all possible worlds in which it has an extension. 2/2
why is Frege the only option? an oft taken path is to analogize predicates/general terms to names/singular terms in that both have objects as their extensions/referents, and their only difference being whether only a single object is in their extension. 1/
