Something about LLM hype culture renders a man immune to the experience of embarrassment. If I couldn’t tell the difference between PhD-level scholarship and grammatical gibberish I simply would not announce that to a global audience.

Yesterday morning kids were sent running from their bus stop in panic because ICE showed up. This guy at today’s ICE Out of Lindenwold protest is a must watch 😭. @maddow.bsky.social

maybe read some Uriah Kriegel, who has been making a big deal about exactly this for decades. so, in knowing what it’s like for me to see red, the phenomenal or qualitative content is the red part, but the other part, subjective properly so called, is the for-me part. Read more, write less.

yeah, that’s wild. fortunately for me and all all my friends, we’re subjects and involved in all sorts of easily comprehensible subjectivity (aka, subject-relativity).

why do i have an obligation to write at great length (after having made the long video you are responding to) when it’s ok for you to make unargued assertions? It’s not like you’re my paying customer. If you can’t lead with something interesting, I don’t see what’s in it for me to invest effort.

I am frustrated by the anti-AI obsession on this place. I understand people are annoyed by AI being imposed on us for trivial things and by the AI uber alles discourse but it really feels like older people complaining about a new technology.

i thought it was orthodoxy in set theory that that’s exactly how you individuate sets. sets x and y are identical iff they have exactly the same members. anyway, i’m not a fan of rigid designation; i just found your remark puzzling and was curious what more there was behind it.

so, the extension of “is a dog” is the set of all dogs and it’s rigid if its extension is the same set in all possible worlds in which it has an extension. 2/2

why is Frege the only option? an oft taken path is to analogize predicates/general terms to names/singular terms in that both have objects as their extensions/referents, and their only difference being whether only a single object is in their extension. 1/
