the 1st phase isn't that exciting melodically but that's exactly why i think it's great: it's ominous as hell and most of the time very restrained, just like ganondorf is. and once it gets going, oh boy, that piano is god's work!
i genuinely think that totk's ganondorf 1st phase theme is easily (one of) my favorite boss themes in all of zelda and whole vgm. 2nd phase as a whole is pretty mid imo; OOT motif doesn't really work and calamity ganon's theme is probably my least favorite out of all ganon's themes
