It’s a little “preachy” but I love TNG’s Silicon Avatar. It’s got science, it’s got urgency, it’s got stakes, and then a gut punch ending that you didn’t see coming the first time. It just says “Star Trek” to me.

Also: Bit of an invasive species. Google says: Their arrival in the Southern U.S. from Asia is a concern because they may outcompete native spiders for food and can catch native pollinators like monarch butterflies.
