If it’s an emergency room, they’re treating everybody without checking citizenship. And then recovering whatever they can from the patient’s insurance. And in many cases that’s nothing because the patient doesn’t have insurance, whether they’re American or not.

They along with a congressional majority unwilling to push back. Some of the Rs are happy he’s not spending what they told him to. Others aren’t but are too scared to do anything about it.

Congress could haul each agency head up and ask “why aren’t you following the law?” But they won’t.

It’s a garbage legal argument, but I suspect it’s limited to those furloughed and not working. Those working without pay would presumably get it.

That said … until it’s clear, yeah, TSA, FAA … won’t help.
