We're at the 'we're very sorry we hired a trans person' stage in the UK's systematic erasure of trans people.

I would be interested on the bundle size of react and nextjs, whether we should remove legacy polyfills ect.

Government confirms Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson as the next EHRC chair Minister for Women and Equalities Bridget Phillipson has confirmed that Dr Mary-Ann Stephenson will be appointed as the new Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).

Sorry, bad news.

This confirms Phillipson as a card carrying TERF too then.

And Stephenson was flagged for being weak on race and disability too.

For a minister to ignore the Womenโ€™s And EQUALITY committees advice here is disgraceful.

Iโ€™m off to my bereavement support group for a good cry.

Nah he wouldn't need to do that tbh, flowers would be on the way for harming women as long as they fit her image of women.

Call me old fashioned, but I think that sharing a racist joke with colleagues, when it affects your professional conduct ought to something you can be sacked for.

The site is so janky as well, I expect it has accessibility issues considering I struggled to use it when they announced it.

The first reported effects of the bill was the de-listing of LGBTQ+ resources from the Reddit search.

Not only are they trying to stop queer kids from growing up, theyโ€™re doing it in the name of our โ€œsafetyโ€. The subtext is that trans kids donโ€™t get murdered for being trans if theyโ€™re cis.

Yeah this is what I am expecting it tries to do what the browser does on build and it not had the element before so it thinks it rouge and moves it outside the element to it parent.

Without the is:raw after build is the element outside the place it should be, potentially on build it validating the DOM like if a button is in the head it immediately ends the head and everything is body.

Will have a mess tomorrow.

Didn't realize you could wrap the view-transition in media query, I been setting animation to none in that separately.

The governments new bill seems- accidentally, Iโ€™m sure- to have made a huge amount of LGBT content, forums etc automatically โ€œadult contentโ€ meaning you canโ€™t use it without sharing your actual biometric data.
Can we see the issue here or shall I go on?

An edited XKCD cartoon based on https://xkcd.com/927/

The title is "How JavaScript Proliferates", with the first slide stating "Situation: there are 14 competing libraries", the middle slide saying "14?! I should definitely make a better one from scratch rather than putting in effort to patch an existing one" and the final slide stating "Soon: Situation: there are 15 competing libraries"

WPO Stats: Case studies on the business impact of web performance

Thanks for the shout-out! And you're right... the neurobehavioral studies are from a while back, but the results would probably be about the same today, because brains don't change much. .There are lots more current business case studies here: wpostats.com

I'm really enjoying it, the bit about concentrating 50% more on slower sites is interesting, I expect that could lead to them starting to question themselves on progression.

I hadn't actually seen it before until I saw someone post about it.

I'm good at the technical /investigation side, and can guess how a user would respond so I thought this might help bridge a gap I need.

Book with title Time is Money, business value of web performance.

Got a new book on the business side of web performance by @tammyeverts.com.

Studies are from awhile ago, but still interesting to read, and newer studies probably find similar things.

People's trust in AI is incredible, the most I use it for is to help me create skeleton structure for articles as I always struggled with that, but not write content for me.
