Ambassador Abi takes on Battle Cancer Brain tumour patient Abi Feltham took on Battle Cancer after being diagnosed with an oligodendroglioma and given 15 years to live, in aid of Brain Tumour Research.

NICE has released its initial guidance on the drug vorasidenib, used to treat low-grade glioma. Despite clinical trials showing that the drug can delay the need for radiotherapy & chemotherapy, NICE has said it should not be routinely used on the NHS in England at this stage. https://bit.ly/3KOu8P6

A pioneering new gene therapy treatment for glioblastoma is set to begin clinical trials in early 2026. The work is led by company Trogenix, co-founded by Professor Steve Pollard - Director of our Scottish Centre of Excellence.

Optimo DJ JD Twitch dies after being diagnosed with brain tumour Keith McIvor was one half of the duo who ran Optimo Espacio at Glasgow's Sub Club between between 1997 and 2010.

We’re saddened to hear of the passing of Keith McIvor (JD Twitch), one half of Glasgow’s Optimo duo, following an untreatable brain tumour diagnosis earlier this year. Our thoughts are with his loved ones and the music community who all cherished him. 💛

MHRA licenses low-grade glioma drug The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has approved licensing for Vorasidenib. Learn what this means for brain tumour patients here.

The MHRA has approved Vorasidenib for certain low-grade gliomas (grade 2 astrocytoma or oligodendroglioma with an IDH1/2 mutation). NICE must now consider whether it will be made available on the NHS.
