here’s a doomsday view of climate change that goes like this:

In a few decades, cataclysmic climate change will decimate civilization. The evidence is all around us—just look at all the heat waves and storms caused by rising global temperatures. Nothing matters more than limiting the rise in temperature.

Fortunately for all of us, this view is wrong. Although climate change will have serious consequences—particularly for people in the poorest countries—it will not lead to humanity’s demise. People will be able to live and thrive in most places on Earth for the foreseeable future. Emissions projections have gone down, and with the right policies and investments, innovation will allow us to drive emissions down much further. Threats
Effects of climate change
Climate change poses a fundamental threat to the places, species and people’s livelihoods WWF works to protect. Humans and wild animals face new challenges for survival because of climate change. More frequent and intense drought, storms, heat waves, rising sea levels, melting glaciers and warming oceans can directly harm animals, destroy the places they live, and wreak havoc on people’s livelihoods and communities.

U.S. Cities at Risk
As climate change worsens, dangerous weather events are becoming more frequent or severe. People in cities and towns around the United States are facing the consequences, from heat waves and wildfires to coastal storms and flooding.

As always, the key question for these guys is: WHO THE HELL ARE YOU ARGUING AGAINST.

It is wild how they just Make Up A Guy constantly, and it doesn't occur to anyone to ask them who the hell they're talking about.

Spend 0.0001 seconds looking at eNGO climate pages, folks

We humans are all one species.

The stupid concept of race was created by European nobles. They told people that looked like me that they were superior to people that didn't look like me so that we would commit the atrocities of colonialism. #auspol www.instagram.com/reel/DHYzoT0...

Refrigerator-sized machine makes gasoline out of thin air The Aircela acts like a mini direct air capture facility, sucking up carbon dioxide and then synthesizing it into real, usable gasoline for cars.

www.popsci.com/environment/...

Aircela's $15-20k machine makes 1 gallon of gas per day out of air and 75kWh of electricity.

Or you could put that energy in an EV and get 255 miles instead of 38, without the machine in between, and no combustion products on our streets.

However it seems that in this case the solution could have been simpler:

1) Make sure conventional backup power acts as promised

2) Change the rules for turning off solar when over- or under-voltage occurs, so solar doesn't turn off all at once

Nuclear Energy Support Near Record High in U.S. Americans support nuclear energy and offer mixed views on fracking and offshore drilling, while a diminished majority prefer renewable energy development over more fossil fuel production.

The extraordinary elite propaganda effort on behalf of nuclear power has worked: public support for nuclear power is at record highs.

This took place during a period in which the only nuclear plant built in the US is 10s of billions over budget. Pretty impressive.

Exclusive Brethren made nearly a million calls for the Liberal Party The Liberal Party provided members of the secretive Christian religious sect access to the party’s tightly held and sensitive voter information software.

The Liberal Party used extremist cult Exclusive Brethren as their campaign volunteer team. These cultists were given access to Liberal data to make 1 million phone calls, and crowded polling booths. Why would the Brethren support the Liberals? What were they promised?

When discussing the Qatari proposal to “gift” a plane to the US President, the only two relevant topics requiring discussion are professional ethics and level of corruption.

Opinion | Democrats Have Been at War With Oil for Too Long

Oh lord, this dipshit is back, this time arguing that Democrats -- under whom oil & gas reached historic peaks & the US became a net energy exporter -- have been "waging war" on oil & gas.

I'd hate to see what support looks like!

OL Peter Dutton has been "very clear"
• His Govt would introduce Policy A.
• Wait ... No, they won't.
• Wait ... No, except in the ACT.
• Wait, no, but yes. Maybe.
• And there's other policies he has regarding A that his shadow ministers say they will definitely introduce, like B, C and D. #auspol

This election has been so revealing of the real Peter Dutton. A bit of poll pressure and he has not been able to hide his extremism on race and gender. Even with all the cover he has been given over the last three years. And now, in the final week, it’s full mask off. What a disgrace.

ICE Deports 3 U.S. Citizen Children Held Incommunicado Prior to the Deportation | American Civil Liberties Union Families disappeared and isolated without legal access; one child with cancer deported without medication and pregnant mother deported as well

Just to be clear, we reached the arresting-judges-and-deporting-US-citizens-without-due-process stage of the slide into authoritarianism today.

And the citizens in question included a toddler and a child with cancer who needs treatment in the US.
