Sailor rebooting life after 9 years at sea. Full timing in an RV instead of a sailboat is...a change, but still a shiftless drifter. Fiction & freelance writer. Liberal atheist loudmouth. He/Him. Also into hiking and learning backpacking. WHO DEY!
So the United States will only use empty warehouses to house people it wants to terrorize, not people it wants to shelter from the cold.
We really are not a very good-natured country.
This kind is all over the Epstein files, with Epstein and his cohorts spouting idiotic pseudoscience using jargon and terms of art they don't understand and wildly misinterpreting basic fundamentals of science.

Although I dont even know you, my heart broke for you with the news of your wife's sudden passing.
To say I can't even imagine is wrong; what you're going through is my worst nightmare, and I am so sorry for your loss.
Take your time, we'll still be here when you're ready.
Yeah, my Duolingo Level 14 was looking pretty weak...there's got to be a better way.

This Bengals fan lived in the heart of Patriots Nation during the Brady years.
The worst fans were the bandwagons who were only there for the winning. Heck, I could name more former Pats QBs than they could.
That lot was NOT gracious in victory or defeat.
Whining about six years without a Lombardi?
I hope they lose by 50.
If Jeff Bezos could afford to spend $75 million on the Melania movie & $500 million for a yacht to sail off to his $55 million wedding to give his wife a $5 million ring, please don't tell me he needed to fire one-third of the Washington Post staff.
Democracy dies in oligarchy.

To all the Minnesotans who are making their voices heard and protesting peacefully:
The world is watching, and when change comes, it will be because of you.
It's fucking surreal how many things that have made you say "oh for fuck sake" over the last decade were the result of side conversations between famous sex criminals in the brief moments when they weren't discussing how much they love rape.

More involvement would always have been better.
Maybe breaking the "don't talk politics" social mores away from our generation would have helped.
But a lot of our GenX Trumpers aren't from the college crowd, too. Reaching them would have been tough.
But my college was known for a lot of outspoken political stuff, too. So there was lots of on-campus political discussion.
My freshman year we made national headlines over a student referendum on stocking health services with suicide pills in case their was a nuclear war...
I think the conservatives at my school felt so outnumbered they felt the need to flout it. In particular it was the guys, I don't recall very many women being gung-ho for Reagan and right wing policies.
The vocal representation of the right was out-sized for their numbers though.
I was president of the College Democrats chapter at my school...so I did a lot of that back then.
We had organized Republicans on campus, a small but loud group. But individually I knew a lot of Alex Keaton wannabes who weren't involved.
True. I went to college at a pretty intensely liberal school, and very few of my classmates from '88 are raging MAGA assholes.
Now...if you want to talk about high school, that's a different convo.
Same here. I thought I was liberal AF in college, and my adult self cringes at how Midwest mid and mainstream I really was back then.
I can not account for our peers...
Not on all of this.
But an awful lot of my cohort hit every branch of the stupid tree when they fell out.
Both leaded gas and paint were mostly non factors when my 59 yo ass was a kid.
Reagan though, that mofo was more insidious than anything in our paint, water, or fuel.
I don't know, I knew a lot of "Reagan Youth" in college, and I went to a flaming liberal school.
