I have a small amount of video of snapped ankles but sadly don’t seem to be able to post.

Test Department backdrop log showing a hand pushing through a cog holding a hammer pressing down into an open book The band on stage are two older men. One wears a black tee-shirt with the slogan “stop genocide, end apartheid, free Palestine”. He speaks into a microphone. In front of him is a table with a computer and digital music equipment. The second man who is to the right of the first plays drum pads with drum sticks Snapped ankles band defy description visually. Think of a post apocalyptic landscape where the air is too thick to breathe and people’s faces are covered. They wear green headlamps to cut through the smog and scraps of clothing (in the style of Mr Susan). Their faces are covered. The singer in the centre of the picture holds a post with a microphone lashed to it. Either side of him are two other men playing synths and digital devices

Two gigs, surprisingly different vibes this weekend #TestDepartment - #Whitstable and #SnappedAnkles - #Margate

I LIKE TRAINS - The Truth (Official Video) YouTube video by iLiKETRAiNSofficial

Playing I Like Trains - #Kompromat It’s probably 5 years old but just as excoriating and blissfully bleak now as it was then. #ILikeTrains #BandsWhoShouldBeMassive #HowDoYouSleepAtNight #TheTruthIs

Tonight’s gig was Index for Working Music, who played Ramsgate Music Hall to an audience of about 25 people!

My Nan is 105 today. Bless her she’s not so terribly well but until just before the pandemic she walked everywhere, was never a drinker & as miserable as sin. Make of that what you will! I never was that close to her but I do admire the old bird. Happy birthday Nan

A commission by Grayson Perry to have one of his ceramic masks made into a knights helmet. The result is a brushed grey mental face with golden eyelashes, ears and stylised crown. Entitled something like the sissy’s bridle Yellow ceramic vase with a bulbous body and slender neck. Decorated in dark blue cartoonish regency style ladies and gents, professing their wealth Leigh Bowery - outrageous costumes on mannequins. All are sparking and have tight fitting masks and gloves Moving Sculpture on a tripod. Reminiscent of a Mattisse mobile with silver mental half and quarter discs, casting a weblike silhouette on the floor and wall

Today I’ve really done art in a big way

A little poem I wrote last week whilst procrastinating. Abridged for the character limit here.

My procrastination first began with a packet of biscuits
Followed by some urgent cleaning
Then time was spent thinking about, overpainting that mark on my ceiling
And by the time I was finished & tidied away
I realised that the chapter I’d intended to write, would have to wait another day.

The band lined up and orderly at the beginning of the set The singer is playing his guitar and singing into the microphone The singer and bass guitarist lean against each other, their backs are arched and necks of their guitars are pointed upwards Chaos at the end, the guitarist is between the second guitarists legs on his knees singing, the bass player has joined the audience. Moments later they were dancing

Thus Love at Ramsgate Music Hall was epic. Last night of the tour and they were in a jubilant and celebratory mood #ThusLove #RamsgateMusicHall

A week since I was visited by the duck, he’s turned up again and was quacking through the patio door. I wonder what he is trying to tell me? 🦆

Yes, our librarians are fantastic. Our university now has an arrangement for staff and PG students to publish OA too

I think it was seeing a little gold padlock on an online article that announced it was open access and I googled OA to find out what it meant
