They did it because of paypros threatening them. Not to excuse their actions, because this is an absolute nightmare, but after what I've been through I'm just glad that people aren't getting banned outright yet.
Yeah, agreed. It's making me extremely nervous. Patreon also started out with helpful, patient mods, and that didn't last.
Some people are saying that the mods have been helpful about this, even telling people to try their posts again with different tags if they get rejected. That’s all the info I’ve got right now.
If this is true, then it could be only a surface-level measure to keep payment processors off their backs. I still don’t like it, but it might not be the end of the world. Right now it seems safe to test the waters at least. Worst case scenario, your upload doesn’t go through.
A lot of people are saying that SubStar’s new rules are only being enforced with regards to things like titles and tags, i.e. an image might get blocked if the title has a word like “sister“ in it, but otherwise be allowed. So far no one seems to be getting banned like they did on Patreon.
So it wasn’t a nightmare, it really happened.
