For years on my old blog I published the names of servicemembers who died in Iraq & Afghanistan. No other outlets were.
These are the first 4 Americans to die in the Iran War.
Capt. Cody A. Khork, 35
Sgt. 1st Class Noah L. Tietjens, 42
Sgt. 1st Class Nicole M. Amor, 39
Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20
Maj. Jeffrey R. O’Brien, 45, of Indianola, Iowa, died on March 1, 2026, in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait.
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, Calif. as well.
Sgt. Benjamin N. Pennington, 26, of Glendale, Ky., died March 8, from injuries sustained during an enemy attack on March 1, at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia.
And while the Pentagon doesn't count him among the Iran war dead: Maj. Sorffly Davius, 46, of Queens, N.Y., died on March 6
I wish I could do this with every Iranian dead as well. It’s perverse that we kill so many people whose names we will never know and even never think about.
When you come upon this post in a thread I fear I will keep updating, spare at least a moment for them.
