The reason the Dems are a failed party is because they have collectively decided that the best policy for any issue is a halfway compromise between a good idea and fascist bigotry, rather than fighting for any sort of coherent ethical framework

I actually think it's pretty important that there is a vacuum where institutional consequences used to be and way too few people seem to think that's a problem and instead calmly sit back and tell everybody that something is illegal and can't happen.

It's the right answer, though
