24.11.2025 20:43 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I can't think of any other example where cabinet has decided to ban a medicine. It's always been left up to the appropriate agencies. Imagine if cabinet applied the same logic to various cancer treatments which pose potential harm with variable degrees of benefit. Idealogues overreaching.
24.11.2025 20:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Incredible! What a great pic you've taken.
23.11.2025 10:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yup, what is the value of a life and all that. Sick fuckers (it's not just him).
22.11.2025 20:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Again ACT behaving from a position of privilege and not caring that many people don't have smart phones. I have bought incredibly cheap imported food items with Australasia std labels. It clearly didn't increase the cost dramatically. This is privileged bullshit.
22.11.2025 10:11 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yeah, brilliant isn't it. π«€

19.11.2025 20:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0When you have to throw some of the most vulnerable populations in AoNZ under the bus with imported conspiracy theories, misogyny & racism to keep a clawlike grip to your waning political star & bolster the crumbling foundations of your increasingly irr. political party.
It's time to go.

19.11.2025 19:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Puberty blockers save lives Professional Association for Transgender Health Aotearoa (PATHA) condemns the decision from NZ Minister of Health Simeon Brown introducing a ban on new prescriptions of puberty blockers for transgender children and young people who are not currently on them. This ban will have a devastating impact on lives and wellbeing of NZ's transgender and gender diverse young people. We know children, young people and their whΔnau will be highly distressed by this decision. We also acknowledge health professionalsβ frustration at the way their expertise has been ignored and disregarded. The ban will lead to a deterioration in mental health, increased risk of suicide and increased dysphoria in gender diverse children and young people. It will put them at a higher risk of experiencing marginalisation and discrimination,β says Dr McElrea, GP specialist in gender affirming care and PATHA Vice-President. βThe prescribing of puberty blockers is undertaken with the utmost care and consideration. They have been prescribed safely for decades for transgender children and banning their use will lead to profound distress in this already vulnerable group. This decision is not supported by the Ministry of Healthβs November 2024 evidence brief on this care. PATHA supports evidence-based medicine, which consists of academic evidence, clinical experience, and patient preferences and values. The NZ restrictions would be in place until the conclusion of clinical trials in the UK, which are not due until at least 2031. In no other area of care would life-saving medication be withheld from a vulnerable population for six years. This will have a traumatic impact on a generation of transgender children. PATHA is strongly against the decision. It is a shocking act of discrimination against transgender children and young people. Banning puberty blockers will not prevent children from being transgender. Qs: info@patha.nz Full release at https://patha.nz/news

Do they decide who is worthy of getting pacemakers? How about deciding what questions to ask in a drivers licence test? These are operational matters for the experts to decide, not politicians with populist agendas.
19.11.2025 11:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Cabinet, a group of politicians, being guided by 3 health ministers/ associate ministers who are not trained healthcare workers in any capacity, made this decision. A decision that should only be made between an informed doctor and the patient/whΔnau.
19.11.2025 11:04 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Casey costello meets with self proclaimed 'terf' as landmark case reaches final chapter. Picture of 2 women above the headline.
A couple of weeks ago, casey costello, in her capacity as Associate Health Minister, met with Irish anti trans activist helen joyce.
ACT hosted the terf and the FSU at Parliament.
This week cabinet made a decision to ban puberty blockers but only for trans kids, cis kids can still get them.
Yup, hope that's how it goes but it's feeling awfully silent in my electorate where we deposed our MP for his celebrations when Roe v Wade was overturned.
19.11.2025 10:52 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Interesting timing. Did Casey Costello meeting with Irish anti trans activist Helen Joyce, have anything to do with this decision?
19.11.2025 10:50 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Yup and if there were big health risks with their use then they would be banned outright, not just for trans kids.
I'm so angry at the politicians but also gutted at the silence of the community around me that was so loud for issues like Roe v Wade and that didn't even impact NZ women.
Zero surprises that the brainless transphobic health minister in NZ ignored all expert advice and evidence and banned puberty blockers for trans youth. Literal blood on his hands.

Even looks like him. Gives me the creeps every time their picture comes up. Absolute halfwit, agenda driven ideologues.
19.11.2025 09:08 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The saddest thing for me is seeing all the women here that screamed and protested about Roe v Wade being overturned in the US, being deathly silent when it comes to this news. People really only do care about things they can imagine impacting themselves. π
19.11.2025 09:04 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Yes! All this. And they're also trying to say the MoH report was used as guidance but the MoH report says very little and certainly doesn't make a recommendation one way or another.
19.11.2025 09:01 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not about blame, that's reductive. It's about the amount of work that needs to be done before progress can be made. As well as making inroads on poverty and the drivers of crime, you've also got a heck of a problem to deal with people whose crimes will escalate due to time in prison.
19.11.2025 01:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And like all previous Nat govts, he ignores that prisoners get out and return to communities to continue the loop of offending unless they get proper support/ rehabilitation opportunities. A LW govt will be in power when they are released and reoffend. So frustrating.
18.11.2025 22:28 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0And this was THE area that needed fixing, unlike the curriculum. As a parent of a child with multiple learning disabilities and no funding, the system sucks. Schools try their hardest using their own ops budget but it was a systemic issue that needed a core solution and funding. Stanford sold out.
18.11.2025 22:23 β π 9 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0The ship's already run aground on Fascism. We need a crew that can dig us out and turn the ship around. It's a much tougher job and Chippy isn't the guy for the job.

I glanced at this headline and thought it was about her policies! Everything she says about the opposition is an admission about her/CoC's own fuck ups.

18.11.2025 02:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0So Bishop believes in cycle lanes and footpaths but his government doesn't. And instead of pushing for a more progressive use of the transport budget, he decided to use the state housing budget. What a screwed up government!
