Last I checked, the only Rust in git was a proof of concept, and the team working on that got re-tasked with other things, so nobody was working on adding more. Has this changed?
If there's now a non-negligible amount of Rust for this person to remove, that might be happy news to me :)

It takes a lot of mental effort to try to fix an imagined apple into one shape, color, orientation, or a location other than the one I associate with it.

I can imagine a sound in vivid detail, no problem.
An apple I imagine does not have a single shape. It is a superposition of all the different shapes of apples I've seen in different places I've seen them with aspects of their look I found notable at the time highlighted.

You can get away from software. You can't get away from bugs.

I kept trying to remember what this reminds me of. It's the Little Mermaid. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lit... She lost her voice, and had to get the prince to fall in love with her through emotes alone.

Also, not sure if this is a bug they'll fix, but Isaac can currently communicate on Discord by starting a new thread at any message without one and writing a short message into the title of the thread.

Can't think of a human-interpretable option. Also, this allows messages of length `(# of emojis) - 256`, not sure how large that number is. Guess it improves if you pay Discord to have more emojis to use.

It's not actually sufficient to pick 256 emojis, since that doesn't allow you to repeat the same character twice. Perhaps all emojis should be ordered. The first byte is picked from the first 256, the next byte from the first 257 but skipping the first byte in the ordering, and so on.

(But please also check with actual security experts what they think about that)

I'm worried that someone malicious could link to a post that suggests the user runs some benign command. Then, after the post gets popular, they could "accidentally" changes it to a similar but malicious command. Without history, it would be hard to verify that the "accident" happened retroactively.

Just pasted this in leaflet.pub/83a6d97f-7ec... via Firefox, didn't work.

Another FR for @leaflet.pub: I wish that pasting Markdown-formatted text (e.g. with `backticks`) resulted in the intended formatting being applied inside leaflet. Or, perhaps better, there could be a command inside leaflet to do the transformation.

(So far, the extend of my editing was adding more links, if anybody gets curious)

I like that @leaflet.pub publications are mutable, but I wonder whether the old versions are stored anywhere or viewable. If they are stored, I'd like it if there was a "view previous versions" link with diffs.

This post duplicates bsky.app/profile/ilya... but I'm afraid that deleting it will delete the leaflet post.
