It's been really exciting collaborating with the rust-analyzer folks on salsa (which we use internally in ty)! A lot of the improvements end up making their way into both projects, I think salsa has a bright future ahead.

thanks! it was designed specifically with rust-analyzer in mind, but other projects—like astral’s ty—ended up using it. i think it’s good for compiler/build system-shaped problems.

i had the same thought when writing github.com/rust-lang/ru..., where the property under test is “[expensive function] is only executed once and remains cached after an edit”. beyond under-explored, “using an llm for test case generation/property discovery” feels like *very* low hanging fruit
