So I (by osmosis we) just watched the first F1 race of the 2026 season. I’m new to sports.
It was…fine? Definitely not something to actively pay attention to throughout (as I did, to see what it was like). Instead, best enjoyed while doing something else, like gaming, or just highlights later.

Do you enjoy period piece speculative chaotic focused against-type romances? Then may I recommend The Bride, which telegraphs an unusual journey in the first dialogue. It’s made of adjectives: new, unusual, unexpected, strong, well acted, well directed, well scripted, musical, serious—horrific.

Ha! Nice. I was playing WoW while watching a YouTube about Christianity vs atheism in the background and actual bible-thumpers came to the door. I sent them away—no way I’m going to a church that cockblocks me killing demons from the void. Not today, Satan! 👿

Do you enjoy cozy thrillers? Then may I recommend Dead of Winter, which has a tiny bit of a pacing issue with flashbacks of the largely unnecessary but interesting backstory variety, but otherwise is appropriately tense with appropriate developments and engaging acting.

Oh, I haven’t encountered this one. Is it in one’s Neighborhood?

We’re soon to tune in to our first-in-lifetime sporting event that we’ve gone out of our way to view out of actual interest. YouTube told us “trials” have already happened, so we suppose this is merely drivers learning the track in their new cars? Our curiosity is piqued. 🏎️🦘

Oof. After four days of ferrying Julia to and from her mother’s (four drives at a a time for me) and bringing back with us junk she couldn’t keep, Julia is wiped out enough from all of it that we’re not going until next week. I hope never to borrow MIL’s facility’s luggage cart ever again. 😅

The bravest cat isn’t Ulthar (on left) who’s been my fighting companion since day one, or the stealthy Myonix (right), it’s wee Silver Tabby Cat, the smallest cat who never fights but is right behind me through even the harshest, most dangerous fights in the world. 🩶🩶🩶 #Warcraft #Midnight #WoW

Do you enjoy seeing movies ice cold, not even knowing the genre? Then may I recommend Pillion, which is how I saw it in the theater today. The studio is A24 but it is _not_ a horror film or even scary in the slightest. It’s a drama, set in England. Also, sexy—Skarsgård sexy. Enough said, really. 😉

I am having an utter ball playing early access of the #Midnight expansion of #Warcraft. The quests, the story, the breathtaking beauty of Silvermoon City, the lush detail _everywhere_, the music, the whole experience is wonderful—and just starting! I haven’t felt this in awhile. It’s really nice. 🥰

Marsha told me afterward of the _significant_ differences and if you’ve read the book, still go see this. It’s not the book, apparently. Not what you think.

Do you enjoy amazing works of film? Then may I recommend “Wuthering Heights” (2026), a movie that’s not an art house film (I thought it might be for a second) but has striking art direction & production plus a great story & performances. I haven’t cried so much in I don’t know how long. Loved so.
