In global terms, Russia is an economic weakling. China has a GDP now almost 10 times as large as Russia’s. It is not even among the top five trading partners (if the EU is counted as a single entity) of any of the original BRICS members.

Phillips is completely snookered by @zackpolanski.bsky.social by knowing his history and explaining it clearly and concisely and in enough detail to snuff out Phillips' attempted Culture War attack.
I'm pretty sure they did grasp it. Lord Hodge thinks he serves a grander authority than Parliament or the ECHR. He serves a bigoted God that probably appears to him in the mirror each and every morning, the ultimate moral authority that is a reflection of his own prejudices.
What the Supreme Court have clearly failed to grasp is that the purpose of the Gender Reassignment Regulations 1999, Goodwin v UK in 2002, the Gender Recognition Act 2004 and the Equality Act 2010 provisions was to integrate trans people in society, with a small number of exceptions where necessary.
