Very well-done article by @chriskirschner.bsky.social. Talked to a variety of people to get the insight on Jazz and got Jazz to open up -- a lot. (It probably wasn't hard to let Jazz be Jazz in the interview.) A lot of bluntness in here.

Jazz Chisholm felt ostracized when he made it to the majors in Miami.

He believes the situation would have been different if he were White.

Now a Yankee, Chisholm has found a seemingly unlikely space to express himself — and blossom.

Yankees’ Devin Williams requested meeting with owner Hal Steinbrenner over facial hair policy concerns The Yankees amended their facial hair policy after it had been a topic of internal conversation for around 10 years.

Devin Williams went directly to Steinbrenner and Cashman unhappy with the Yankees' facial hair policy.

“It’s not my preference,” he said.

Williams also said if the policy remained, it would have been something he considered in free agency.
