So if you haven't already heard, Nintendo just made two insane updates to their EULA, which states that

1. You can't sue them for anything at all if you have a Nintendo account, and

2. They can brick your console if you mod it

Essentially, it was never your console to begin with.

The iQue was Nintendo's response to China banning video games, making gaming more accessible there. Can't remember all the games that were made available, but the fact that they were willing to go this far was amazing

I grew up in a time where Nintendo, SEGA, and Sony ruthlessly dunked on each other CONSTANTLY and it was hilarious.

I'm personally not buying the Switch 2. I refuse to award greed. I'll stick with the Switch 1, there's still games releasing that I want, but I will not support the company Nintendo has become. (6/6)

Something that both the Steam Deck understood with 'Apeture Desk Job,' and the PS5 understood with 'Astro's Playroom.' Or (and get this), the Wii did with Wii Sports. They shipped the game with the console. So it would make sense to ship the Welcome Tour (4/4)

Not to mention (as another point of topic), 'Nintendo Switch 2: Welcome Tour.' What's basically a tech demo meant to familiarize people with the Switch 2 hardware. Why are we paying for this game? It should be common knowledge that a tech demo should be shipped with the console (3/3)

And Nintendo knows what they're doing. That's both shady and greedy. There's no other way to put this. All of their other accessories have some similarly insane pricing, some even higher than the Joy Cons. Nintendo is basically saying that they don't care about you and just want your money. (2/2)

First, someone explain to me why the Switch 2 Joy Cons are $95??? What even justifies this??? Some people might say tariffs, but at this point, this is just ridiculous. As Nintendo clarified that the joysticks aren't hall effect, that's almost guaranteed that you'll have to replace them, (1/1)

On top of which, Steam has normally scheduled seasonal sales. In fact, Steam has games on sale all the time. So, my main problem with the Switch 2 is really just how Nintendo is seemingly trying to gouge out of us for more than we can afford. You can't look me in the eye and tell me they're not.

I think the main argument here for Steam Deck vs Switch 2 is that Steam doesn't make you spend a copious amount of money on games, and on top of this, you're not paying an online service to game with friends. Emulation? Easy. Game prices? Up to the developers, who normally make them fair prices.

Now, some games, we do see priced at $70, sometimes $80. But those are normally AAA games like Elden Ring, and GTA, and what we're expecting to see GTA 6 release at. But Mario Kart of all games? That's just Nintendo being greedy at this point. What made them think we'd just buy games at that price?
