Meanwhile, you have Clarence Thomas taking bribes, Manchin's daughter grifting off her dad's votes, and both parties wantonly doing insider trading, and since only slow-walking the Trump investigations seemed to matter, voters assumed none of those other things were problems.

Any talk of Republicans' "natural advantage" on this ignores how Democrats ignore their far more significant one, which is passing even a fraction of progressive Democratic policies would solve both these problems naturally. Instead they whined they wanted to deport more people than Republicans did.

Crime is at record lows across the country. Voters have never cared about "crime." They care about feeling scared when they see immigrants and homeless people and have decided "crime" is an easy way to say "make the scary people go away" and Democrats decided the best strategy was to validate this.

I mean at this point he’s just auditioning to get a cable news show, that absolutely has to be what this is, right?

He’s stupid, but he’s not this stupid. He doesn’t just… not know this isn’t going to get him elected.

What is driving Democrats insane about Mamdani is he is going to win in a way that every single 2028 campaign strategist insists their clients need to do the exact opposite of. Their entire argument is people like Mamdani and Fetterman can’t ever win, except for every time they do.

09.08.2025 15:32 β€” πŸ‘ 17    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

For all his later sins, I think Fetterman’s campaign is beneficial to the left in that it completely negates this β€œMamdani is an anomaly, it could only happen in a leftist city like NYC” argument because 1. lol and 2. Fetterman carried every county of a state Trump won twice.

09.08.2025 15:31 β€” πŸ‘ 10    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Personal agendas aside, the Mamdani arc is very similar to Fetterman’sβ€”a widely disdained candidate deemed implausible and unelectable, merely an inconvenience for the anointed lab-grown and tested party choice who was absolutely annihilated when forced to actually campaign against a real person

Obviously, I hate what happened later, but I think any progressive who wants to win an election needs to honestly look at who one of the most successful examples of this in the last few years was and it was without a doubt John Fetterman

Just spitballing here, but cryptobros throwing sex toys at WNBA players on the court and other cryptobros and male sports commentators calling it funny and telling the women and their coaches to 'lighten up' both explains the 'male loneliness epidemic' and why I don't care about it.

The only Democrat to beat Trump was the one who answered the question β€œhow many genders are there” with β€œat least three” but all the so called sober rationalists think they’ve got the one simple trick to winning and it’s β€œjust be a nicer fascist”

08.08.2025 18:14 β€” πŸ‘ 15    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

β€œKamala wouldn’t be trying to take away trans people’s rights right now! Who do you think she is, one of the two potential Democratic presidential candidates who have already said they want to do exactly that?”

08.08.2025 16:16 β€” πŸ‘ 12    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Every time I see one of those sneering, pathetic β€œyou know, I don’t think Kamala would be doing this right now” on here, I think how this is what the party that won the UK elections in a record landslide is doing now. This is their priority. This is what matters to liberals, wherever they reside.

08.08.2025 16:15 β€” πŸ‘ 15    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

A variant right-wing party is going to take over the country from these people because they have a sub 20% approval rating now, and they don’t care because the most entrenched powerful members will keep their jobs and stay rich. But somehow it’s not like that with US Democrats. Nope.

08.08.2025 16:14 β€” πŸ‘ 11    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Weird how the β€œeverything is your fault, this is what you get for not voting to stop the fascists from taking over” liberals have nothing to say on how the party in the UK that won exactly on that strategy is doing this. These are effectively the Democrats of England, and they’re the fascists now.

No sorry I will not allow treating transgender people as anything less than full and equal members of American society be characterized as purity and something to be papered over to defeat the right. If people like Buttigieg and Newsom want to throw those rights under the bus we have more options.

I'm sure that's the idea but I don't understand how Trump thinks that works. Even if he could do this (he can't), The top three undocumented-populated states in the US are CA, TX, and FL. The collective loss of red and blue House seats (and electoral votes) in those states would be a wash at best.

07.08.2025 13:11 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The reason the Dems are a failed party is because they have collectively decided that the best policy for any issue is a halfway compromise between a good idea and fascist bigotry, rather than fighting for any sort of coherent ethical framework

I’m just so tired of seeing liberals plead with the media to do better. This is my area of knowledge. I’ve professionally watched them for decades now. They don’t fucking care. They don’t care if fascism comes for the press. They’re happy if they’re fat dumb and wealthy. They want book deals.

You can fudge with short-term data (poverty, notably, decreased over the last -five- years, which I’m sure had nothing to do with freezing foreclosures for three years, yep) but see stats above. Meanwhile, you are now statistically more likely to be robbed by a police officer than a burglar.

Crime down in every category in 2024, FBI report says Murder, other violent crimes and motor vehicle thefts all declined in 2024, according to the latest report from the FBI.

Crime is at or near record low in almost any significant measurable category according to those partisan lefties at (checks notes) the FBI.

Will provided no context whatsoever, but poverty rates via census stats have objectively increased over the last two decades. For crime there’s obviously an exponential number of ways you can pick and choose to support either argument, but it’s down in most relevant cases.

There's a very specific subsection of American liberals that find the most annoying thing in the world to be when the left is correct about something, especially when they were correct about it faster than them. This is why when you seen one of these people snipe at the left, it's best to Google it.

06.08.2025 18:33 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

A major reason this pisses me off so much is when I worked for the Children's Defense Fund in 2007, a major campaign at the time was for awareness about 1 in every 9 children in America living in poverty. In 2015 it was 1 in 8. In 2025, it's 1 in 7.

That is, quite literally, poverty getting worse.

06.08.2025 18:30 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 3    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 1

Correction: the record year for Americans in poverty was 2014, not 2019. Happy to concede that in the last decade, we have slightly improved conditions to only 12% of all Americans living in poverty, including one in every seven children. Truly, the left should abandon such pessimism.

Will gets tons of undeserved hate on here, but I don’t know what the point of this is. Crime is, in fact, at record lows, and poverty is, in fact, at record highs. I’m not sure why people are choosing to ignore this to fight strangers on the Internet instead of, you know, going outside I guess.

I mean, I guess other than the small fact that one of those statements is factually correct and the other one isn’t, sure. Both sides.

Crime is at historic lows, making the right’s claim wrong. The new record for the most Americans living below the poverty line was only five years ago, making the left correct. This post is an hour old so I’m assuming somebody already posted the dril tweet.
