07.04.2025 23:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's a type of resistance to not back down and cower due to the heightened uncertainty.
Not only that, I know it always helps others to see the duality of struggle and progress in grant preparation is ok, it doesn't mean we can't achieve our goals.
That is where the breakthroughs come in, grant-writing journey often reveals a lot about myself so I will share those revelations too.
Why? Well, when so many grants are being terminated. I am compelled to believe it is still possible to continue meaningful research pursuits.
I will share about the issues I am encountering along the way, some practical grant-writing hacks, and most importantly, how I manage my mind as the deadline approaches.

04.04.2025 22:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In the next week, we celebrated how she finished a manuscript draft!! (something that was in the threat bucket for months)
04.04.2025 22:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0- Change her thoughts about tasks so she spends less time avoiding them
04.04.2025 22:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0What was interesting about this breakthrough for her?
Most of the time those things in a threat bucket were not threats at all!
Using my Make Internal Shifts framework, I helped my client:
- Gain awareness of this pattern so now she gets to question if something is really a threat.
Sound familiar?! I will not take credit for the term βthreat bucketβ that came from one of my clients: She realized how much she was avoiding things that she was asked or expected to do.
04.04.2025 22:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Instead, it goes into the threat bucket in your mind
Like when youβre taking out the trash, even though itβs not trash, youβre putting it aside in this one bucket of things you want to avoid, things you will continue to avoid until you can't avoid any longer
Hey sis, do you have a threat bucket?!
You know when you open your email and there are things in your inbox that seem scary they seem like a threat,
things you may not have even fully read through but just because of who sent it or what the subject line is, your impulse is to not address it
In Make Internal Shifts, my clients learn career strategy while also gaining tools that help them get out of the heads and be effective at research.
