Also, got a lifetimes worth of backlog of physical media (that is very slowly increasing) which is the option I’m drifting back towards as once I’ve got it, I know it’ll still be there when I’m ready to watch it.

Do you use the app JustWatch? Doesn’t change the outcome (it’s usually ‘rent or buy’ or ‘nope’) but occasionally I look for something and it pops up that it happens to be on iPlayer/ITVX/4od, etc. Not ideal, but better than nothing. Cancelled my Netflix & Disney ‘cos I so rarely got to use them.

Is that *the* The Bluetones? Got thrown into the Britpop thing, favoured by Edgar Wright? They’re still going, saw them in Brighton a couple of months back. That looks an interesting very early demo if so.

The album they did after this, Every Valley, is all about the Miner’s Strikes of the early 80’s. Also worth a listen/read-around.

A film set at Christmas does not a Christmas film make. If you want the ‘edgy’ and ‘cool’ option, Satoshi Kon’s Tokyo Godfathers is just over there waiting for you to watch it. It’ll even make you feel all festive and…if you let it, it’ll even make you a better, more empathetic human being.

Not actually a ticket, but a travel voucher to see Nirvana at the Cardiff International Arena in April 1994. The gig was postponed, and then didn’t happen. The ticket cost £12 and the coach travel cost £15.50.

And the gig that never happened. Got postponed to days away from my birthday…and then didn’t happen for obvious reasons. It’s mad to see the prices. £7.50 to see Smashing Pumpkins, and £12 to see Nirvana (with £15.50 coach travel.) Again screenshotted from my Insta.

Also, probably should have included Radiohead at Middlesbrough Town Hall on The Bends tour, but not sure which one I would swap out. Was stood feet away from Johnny Greenwood as he stood in the sound desk area chatting with a couple of girls (in a lovely leather jacket.)
