this is worth saying:
nuxt is an independent open source project and not directed or owned by any company.
check out github.com/nuxt/governa... for specifics.
you can see the companies which sponsor the project financially on OpenCollective and GitHub Sponsors.
Going after OSS projects that are openly governed isn't going to do what you want it to. Vercel makes its money from its hosting platform and paid products. OSS is not a paid product and while contributes goodwill doesn't directly impact the bottomline. And these project's reach well exceed Vercel.

Same here, Iβll speak about Nuxt. I donβt post often, but this is a bit worrying in my opinion.
Some do get funding from Vercel, but Nuxt is neither owned nor controlled by Vercel. Nuxt and the Nuxt team remain independent, community first and with a public governance model.
Looking for an amazing engineer who is also a great open source contributor and @nuxt.com team member?
Then be quick and hit up Julien! π

Hello there! π
Iβm looking for my next role in software engineering.
Iβd love to make an impact on developer experience, where my open-source and Nuxt team member experience can really make a difference.
Open to frontend, backend, tooling or DX roles, remote or near Paris !
So sorry for you and your family's loss Daniel π

π does anyone know about any interesting full-stack/frontend roles, which ideally would benefit from significant nuxt expertise?

* For you as developer
* For the @nuxt.com framework
* For the community
* For the folks who worked at NuxtLabs before
* and more
**This will bring clarity**
I'm thrilled to share this news! I'm genuinely happy to see the teams coming together on this exciting new journey.
I believe this collabo will go a long way in bridging the once-distinct communities β Vue/React, Nuxt/Next, Vite/Turbopack β having closer collaboration and better resource sharing
I have full confidence in all of them, as they hold open-source values close to their heart.
08.07.2025 19:53 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For those concerned about Nuxt and Nitroβs independence: rest assured. Vercel is commited to Open-Source and both projects will remain under the MIT license, continue to operate independently, with open governance and a public roadmap. The best example is how @svelte.dev remained independent.

Congrats to @atinux.com , @pi0.io , @danielroe.dev , @antfu.me and the entire @nuxtlabs.com team on joining @vercel.com !
Itβs truly exciting to see four members of the Nuxt Core Team joining Vercel β a move that will help make open source more sustainable for them.
We are joining forces with Vercel β¨
Nuxt stays MIT-licensed. The roadmap stays public. The community stays at the center. π
it's beautiful isn't it ?
